IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING GROUP ROLE

On behalf of the signatories to the Compact, the Implementation and Monitoring Group undertakes the following work:

• Promotes the development of good practice in partnership working between the public sector and the voluntary and community sector.

• Produces an Annual Report on the working of the Compact.

• Organises a Compact Champions Annual Event.

• Identifies additional or new areas of focus.

• Recommends updates of the Compact as necessary and seek approval for these changes at the Compact Champions Annual Event.

• Supports the Champions in helping them to develop and monitor the use of the Compact in their organisations.

• Advises on the implementation of the Compact’s principles and good practice guidance.

• Develops action plans for the promotion of the Compact.

• Agrees monitoring criteria and undertake regular evaluation of their effect.

• Establishes dispute resolution mechanisms.

• Supports the development of quality standards in the voluntary and community sector.

• Undertakes formal reviews of the Compact, usually at three yearly intervals.

• Meets not less than four times per year.
